Cafes in Dharamshala – McLeodGanj – Dharamkot
(Food Triangle of Kangra)
While you are traveling to Dharamshala or going for Triund trek, if you are in the vicinity – you should definitely explore the cafes of McLeod Ganj and Dharamkot. We were lucky to explore so many cafes over the weekend on our way back from the beautiful Triund trek. The food has a touch of Tibet flavor as well owing to Dalai Lama influence.
LIST OF SOME GOOD CAFES in McLeod (NOT A COMPREHENSIVE LIST):

Sharing the cafes in the order we visited them.
Both indoor and outdoor seating available, we chose the outdoor area for great view & location. Awesome tea & coffee, average food & ambience – we rested here after our bus journey from Delhi to Dharamshala.
A short trek near Bhagsunag Waterfall – Awesome view & location. Both indoor and outdoor seating available, we chose indoor area for the comfortable floor seating. Relax and lie down on mattresses after climbing the fleet of stairs. You can also start for Triund Trek from Shiva cafe but it is a less taken and more steep route. We came down from Shiva cafe and took the regular trek route to Triund.
Morgan’s Place MUST VISIT
Great cafe with awesome food, seating, service, view, location, everything! Coffee, Shake, Pasta, Panini, Fries – all super good. Both outdoor and indoor seating available. Amazing view outside and comfortable floor seating inside. Their washroom was super clean and maintained properly – perfect for a break to freshen up. We rested here after our trek back from Triund to Dharamkot.
Commonground Cafe MUST VISIT
Perfect place to chill out and relax. Comfortable shared floor seating along with private tables. We spent most of the time lazing here. We had their special cookies – they were so awesome that we even bought a few for home. Also, tried Tibet food – Thukpa with soothing lemon tea.
We stopped here in the evening while going back to catch our return bus. This is a bit classy cafe and as the name suggests it is a paradise for book lovers. We got here pretty late so couldn’t explore much but all the walls were adorned with diverse books. Tried their famous almond coffee ice cream, sitting in candle light in the balcony and it was amazing. Perfect short date to end the awesome trip.

Happy trekking and eating!
Zomato recently launched in Dharamshala and Mcleodganj, updated the blog with Spoonbacks. It might take a while to see the Zomato ratings.
