Millennial-friendly easy recipes in a mug (<5 min) – no dirty dishes!

‘Meal in a mug’ is the smart way to sustain lockdown, the new ‘meal in a bowl’. Cook and eat in a mug. Perfect for bachelors/ students/ all the people stuck in lockdown with dirty dishes. You just need a mug and a microwave to cook/ eat. No need to survive on just eggs and Maggi!

3 easy mug recipes:

  1. Coffee Chocolate eggless cake (2 min)

  2. Mac & Cheese (6 min)

  3. Veggies & Cheese (3 min)

1. Coffee Chocolate cake (eggless) in 2 mins – super addictive

  1. 1 Microwave-safe mug

  2. 1/2 tbsp coffee

  3. 1 tbsp cocoa

  4. 3 tbsp milk

  5. 1/4 tsp baking powder

  6. 4 tbsp flour (Healthy version: use whole wheat flour)

  7. 1 tbsp sugar (Healthy version: use a mashed banana)

  8. 3 tbsp oil (Healthy version: use less oil)

  9. Mix well

  10. Optional: Walnuts, chocolate

  11. Microwave for 1-1.5 min

  12. Topping (optional): Ice cream, wafers

2. Mac and Cheese in 6 min

  1. 1 Microwave-safe mug

  2. 1/2 cup macaroni

  3. 1/2 cup water

  4. Pinch of salt

  5. Microwave for 4-5 min, stir to avoid spillover

  6. Pinch of pepper

  7. 3 tbsp milk

  8. 1/2 cup cheese (add more if you want)

  9. Microwave for 0.5-1 mins more

  10. Garnish (optional): Oregano, veggies, salsa sauce, more cheese

3. Veggies and Cheese in 3 min

  1. 1 Microwave-safe mug

  2. 1 egg

  3. 2 tbsp milk

  4. Pinch of salt & pepper

  5. 1/4 cup cheese

  6. Whisk egg

  7. 1 slide of bread cut into crumbs

  8. Cut veggies of choice (such as bell pepper/capsicum)

  9. 1/4 cup cheese (add more if you want)

  10. Microwave for 1.5-2 min

  11. Garnish (optional): Oregano, more cheese

Bonus: Poached egg in 45 sec

  1. 1 Microwave-safe shallow bowl

  2. Pour 1 egg

  3. Add bit of water to slightly submerge the egg

  4. Microwave for 45 sec only

  5. Pinch of salt & pepper

  6. Optional: Enjoy with bread/ any other side
